Philippines Tourism Expo Japan 2025 yields ₱349.9M in new travel business leads
The Philippines made a strong mark at the Tourism Expo Japan (TEJ) 2025, held at the Aichi Sky Expo from September 25 to 28, securing an impressive ₱349.9 million in potential sales leads.

The Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines led the delegation in partnership with the Department of Tourism (DOT). Representatives from airlines, hotels, resorts, and tour operators joined, showcasing the best of Philippine travel.
Business-to-business meetings dominated the first two days, connecting local stakeholders with Japanese buyers and industry partners. The weekend brought consumer-focused activities, drawing thousands of Japanese travelers eager to learn about the Philippines.
The Philippine booth stood out with its cultural depth and visual appeal. It featured top destinations like Intramuros, Boracay, Chocolate Hills, and Moalboal, all aligning with Japanese travelers’ love for history and nature. Visitors also enjoyed performances from the LUMAD group, offering a glimpse of Filipino heritage.
Adding a modern touch, Japanese content creators Bonnie the Star and Miyuu hosted the Philippine Travel Talk Show, where they shared their personal experiences exploring the country’s food, culture, and scenic sites.
TPB Chief Operating Officer Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles highlighted the success, saying the results showed Japan’s strong interest in Filipino culture and travel. “Our participation gave the market an avenue to immerse in our culture and feel the warmth of the Filipino people,” she said.
Organized by the Japan Travel and Tourism Association (JTTA), Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA), and Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), TEJ 2025 welcomed over 127,000 visitors and exhibitors from more than 82 countries.
The Philippines’ ₱349.9 million in sales leads reaffirms its strong ties with Japan and signals a growing confidence in Philippine tourism’s global potential.
