Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Mae Cruz-Alviar and produced by Star Creatives in partnership with Netflix, the Philippine adaptation brings a new cultural lens to the story of emotional healing, trauma, and unconventional romance.
The series follows a best-selling children’s book author (Anne Curtis) who suffers from antisocial personality disorder. Emotionally guarded and cold, her world begins to unravel when she crosses paths with a compassionate caregiver (Joshua Garcia) and his older brother (Carlo Aquino). What follows is a journey of self-discovery, compassion, and confronting long-buried wounds.
The original South Korean version became a cultural phenomenon upon its release, known for its raw emotional storytelling and visually captivating style. With a stellar cast and powerful direction, this local version promises the same emotional depth, now grounded in Filipino nuances and storytelling.
Fans have been eagerly awaiting Anne Curtis’s return to scripted television, and pairing her with dramatic heavyweights Joshua Garcia and Carlo Aquino has only amplified the excitement.
Catch It’s Okay To Not Be Okay exclusively on Netflix starting July 18.
