Globe became the first local company to host the Philippine Business and Disability Network’s (PBDN) 4th Networking Meeting, held with Project Inclusion Network. The event gathered 36 companies during National Disability Rights Week to address one key question: “What does equity look like when built into the design of systems, workplaces, and technologies?”
Globe President and CEO Carl Cruz emphasized the company’s commitment to embedding inclusion in its culture, systems, and platforms. He noted that every talent matters and that progress comes from action and collaboration.
Globe AVP for Product Experience Strategy & Design Denise Haak shared her experience in inclusive hiring, from employing individuals with visual, speech, and developmental disabilities to designing accessible tools. She stressed that equity starts with reviewing job postings for bias, offering interview accommodations, and simplifying digital navigation.
Under its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Policy, Globe is redesigning its web platforms to meet WCAG standards, use accessible color contrasts, and apply clear language. Social innovator and Virtualahan founder Ryan Gersava also spoke, sharing how his exclusion from employment led to a digital skills program that has empowered hundreds of persons with disabilities.
The meeting ended with a workshop, “Journeys & Junctions: Mapping Inclusion Across the Employee Lifecycle,” where participants identified barriers and created solutions for more inclusive hiring, onboarding, and performance review processes. PBDN Executive Director Grant Javier closed with a call for a broader network of allies to foster a truly inclusive ecosystem.
For Globe, the event marked a movement toward building a digital world that works for all.
