Green GSM’s latest agreements aim to expand electric passenger transport across major Philippine cities and provinces through VinFast EVs and local fleet partnerships.
Green GSM is moving forward with a major electric mobility expansion in the Philippines after signing a series of Memoranda of Understanding and deposit agreements with 75 transport companies and cooperatives.
The agreements support the planned deployment of up to 18,497 VinFast electric vehicles for passenger transport operations across the country. The expansion will cover key markets including Metro Manila, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro, Cavite, Pampanga, Bacolod, Batangas, Baguio, and Ozamiz.
The planned fleet will include VinFast VF 5/Herio Green and Limo Green models designed for ride-hailing and passenger transport use. The vehicles are expected to be deployed through a mix of direct investment and long-term leasing arrangements.
For Green GSM, the Philippines is a key part of its wider Southeast Asian expansion. The company is using a partnership-led model that combines its technology platform and operating standards with the local knowledge, driver networks, and deployment capacity of transport groups in the country.
The latest agreements follow Green GSM’s initial deployment of 2,500 vehicles in collaboration with Xentro Group. With the next phase, the company aims to expand both fleet size and geographic coverage in the Philippine market.
Green GSM said the model allows transport companies and cooperatives to participate in the shift to electric mobility while maintaining local fleet operations. It also supports a more practical path for large-scale EV adoption by using existing transport networks.
Gio Colmenares, CEO of Asia Prime Force Corporation, said the partnership reflects a broader shift in the transport industry, where scale, efficiency, and sustainability are becoming more connected.
Dave Baldoza, Managing Director of Green EV Transport Corp and Green Fast Corporation, said the transition to electric mobility is also about long-term sustainability for transport cooperative members. She noted that Green GSM’s model can help cooperatives modernize their fleets while maintaining operational stability and access to demand.
Rachel Ann Villanueva, Chairwoman of Green Will Corporation, said scaling electric mobility requires coordinated investment across vehicles, infrastructure, and operations. She added that partnership models can help accelerate EV adoption in emerging urban markets.
Nguyen Van Thanh, Global CEO of GSM, said electrifying transportation is already happening across major urban centers worldwide. He said Southeast Asia remains one of the most dynamic regions for this shift, with Green GSM aiming to advance electric mobility through a practical and sustainable platform.
Following the signing, partners are expected to complete vehicle orders and begin phased operations throughout 2026.
The expansion highlights the growing role of transport companies and cooperatives in the Philippines’ electric mobility transition. It also points to a future where cleaner passenger transport can scale through shared investment, local execution, and standardized service quality.
