League of Legends is set to roll out Season 3 in Patch 25.17, bringing story, gameplay, and competitive updates that mark the culmination of a year-long player journey. This season will tie together past arcs such as Spirit Blossom Beyond and Welcome to Noxus, with champions LeBlanc, Yunara, Atakhan, and Xin Zhao at the center of the unfolding narrative. The stage also builds toward the 2025 League of Legends World Championship, returning to China for its 15th anniversary, with matches starting in Beijing on October 14 and the Finals in Chengdu on November 9.

Gameplay updates
- Xin Zhao VU: Full visual overhaul with updated skins, including a new Epic skin in Act 1. Legacy skins Commando and Imperial Xin Zhao will temporarily remain at original RP pricing.
- Quality-of-life changes: Jungle camp timers added; death recap now tracks summoner spells.
- Doom Bots return: Updated PvE mode with new bosses, curses, and “Trials of Doom” challenges.
- WASD controls: New optional control scheme enters PBE testing before broader rollout.
- Player behavior system: Smurfing, boosting, hitchhiking, account sharing, and botting face stronger sanctions, powered by Vanguard and improved reporting. True Skill 2 matchmaking system expands testing.
