Jordan Astra is stepping into a bold new era with his latest release. The Indonesian-Canadian pop soul and R&B singer-songwriter has just dropped his new single “Famous”, a funk-laced groove that captures spontaneity, honesty, and pure vibe. Alongside the single, he announced his upcoming record ‘Time Will Tell’, the final chapter of his music trilogy, set for release on September 19 via Mind of a Genius Records.
“Famous” was created during a songwriting camp in Limoux, France, where Astra tapped into a space filled with vintage instruments and sunlit energy. Recorded live in a single day, the song kept its demo vocals to preserve the raw feeling of that moment. Influences from Pharrell, Jamiroquai, and Anderson Paak flow through the track, making it an irresistible mix of soul, funk, and R&B.
The upcoming album ‘Time Will Tell’ continues Astra’s journey of groove-driven storytelling. With tracks like “Honey” and “Driving Me Wild”, the record promises a mix of joy, connection, and sunlit funk that highlights his evolving artistry. Astra has built momentum since going solo in 2018, headlining shows, winning The Showcase Tour Finale, opening for Leikeli47, and streaming strong in Asia, with Jakarta and Bangkok ranking among his top cities.
From his 2023 EP ‘Man From East’ to 2024’s ‘Far Deeper’, Astra has consistently pushed boundaries. ‘Time Will Tell’ brings these experiences together into his most ambitious and colorful project yet. For Astra, music is more than sound; it’s a world of rhythm, groove, and optimism that keeps growing stronger with every release.
