HONOR Robot Phone Launches with Motorized Camera and Dual 200Mp System

HONOR has officially launched the HONOR Robot Phone, a flagship smartphone built around a motorized camera arm that can physically move to track subjects and capture stabilized footage.

The device integrates what HONOR calls its 4DoF Titanium Agile Gimbal, AI-powered motion controls and selected elements of ARRI’s professional imaging technology.

Rather than functioning as a humanoid robot, the Robot Phone derives its name from its physically articulated camera system and “embodied AI” features. These allow its camera to pan, tilt and follow a subject with less manual control.

HONOR says the device has begun its global commercial rollout. However, the company has not confirmed its Philippine launch date, price, storage configurations or local retailers.

A motorized camera built into the phone

The Robot Phone incorporates an ultra-compact mechanical system made from more than 100 precision components and developed through 60 manufacturing processes, according to HONOR.

Its titanium gimbal motor weighs 2.6 grams and supports movement at up to 360 degrees per second. HONOR also claims that the system is 65% smaller and 200% stronger than mainstream gimbals, although the release does not identify the comparison products or testing methodology.

The opening section of the release describes the camera as a motorized three-axis gimbal, while the technical section names it a 4DoF mechanical system. HONOR does not explain in the document how its four degrees of freedom correspond to the gimbal’s axes and other movement.

The phone offers several motion modes for mobile filmmaking:

• Tilt Lock
• First Person View
• FPV Vertical
• AI SpinShot
• AI Live-Tracking

Voice Source Localization allows the camera to identify where sound is coming from and adjust its position. Gesture controls can also deploy the camera arm or trigger supported shots without touching the phone.

Dual 200MP cameras lead the imaging system

HONOR equipped the Robot Phone with two 200-megapixel rear cameras.

The 200MP Agile Gimbal Main Camera uses a 1/1.28-inch sensor and an f/1.6 aperture. It is paired with a 200MP Periscope Telephoto Camera featuring a 1/1.4-inch sensor and 2.7x optical zoom.

A 50MP ultra-wide camera with a 122-degree field of view completes the rear imaging system.

Real-world image quality cannot be determined from resolution figures alone. Sensor processing, optics, stabilization, lighting and software will also affect the final results.

HONOR brings ARRI workflows to mobile imaging

The Robot Phone is the first product milestone under HONOR’s Cinematic Imaging Partnership with ARRI, a company known for professional cinema cameras and filmmaking technology.

Its main camera supports 10-bit ARRI LogC3 recording through ARRI CINEMA mode. The system also incorporates ARRI Wide Gamut 3 and ARRI Looks.

Log recording can preserve more highlight and shadow information for color grading, while the wider color space is intended to provide greater control during post-production.

Footage can be transferred to professional editing software such as DaVinci Resolve, where creators can apply supported ARRI lookup tables.

The video pipeline reportedly processes data in 14-bit 4:4:4 before producing 10-bit LogC3 and 4:2:2 output. HONOR claims its AI processing improves video signal-to-noise ratio by 8 dB and supports up to 14 stops of dynamic range.

These remain manufacturer claims until assessed through independent testing and real-world production.

YOYO Robot Mode handles hands-free filming

Running on MagicOS, the device introduces YOYO Robot Mode, which combines visual and audio perception, gesture recognition, contextual understanding and physical camera movement.

The phone can automatically keep a person in frame while they are:

• Recording a vlog
• Hosting a livestream
• Moving during a video call
• Filming without a separate camera operator

The feature effectively positions the Robot Phone as a pocket-sized automated camera assistant.

Its YOYO Auto Execution feature can also interpret user requests and perform supported multi-step actions across applications and system settings.

HONOR is opening an Agent Skills interface to third-party developers, potentially allowing them to create applications that use the gimbal, sensors and embodied-interaction features.

Flagship processor and a 7,060mAh battery

The Robot Phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform, with a custom cooling system intended to maintain performance during extended recording and AI workloads.

It carries a 7,060mAh silicon-carbon battery and supports:

• 120W wired HONOR SuperCharge
• 50W wireless HONOR SuperCharge

The release does not provide charging-time estimates, regional charger-inclusion details or standardized battery-life test results.

Its display is a 6.31-inch LTPO OLED panel with an adaptive refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz. HONOR claims peak brightness of 6,800 nits and includes 4,320Hz PWM dimming as part of its eye-comfort features.

The screen is protected by HONOR NanoCrystal Shield, while the phone uses an all-metal integrated unibody.

Will the HONOR Robot Phone launch in the Philippines?

HONOR first showcased the Robot Phone at Mobile World Congress 2026 before using it for stabilized filming demonstrations connected with the Cannes Film Festival’s China Night and the Shanghai International Film Festival.

Its official launch now signals the beginning of a global commercial rollout.

Despite the Philippine press release asking whether the device is “coming to PH,” it does not confirm a local launch, availability date or price.
