Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Leads Record Foldable Pre-Orders in the Philippines

Samsung’s latest foldable lineup has recorded its strongest pre-order performance yet in the Philippines, led by growing demand for the Galaxy Z Fold8.

According to Samsung Electronics, the Galaxy Z Fold8 became the company’s best-selling foldable during a Philippine pre-order period. It accounted for almost 60% of local Galaxy Z8 series orders recorded since July 22.

At its peak, Samsung said nearly one Galaxy Z8 series device was sold every minute during the pre-order campaign.

The local response reflects a broader trend across Southeast Asia and Oceania. Regional pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra increased by almost 60% compared with the Galaxy Z Fold7, marking a record-high pre-order volume for Samsung foldables in the region.

Across Southeast Asia and Oceania, the Galaxy Z Fold8 also represented nearly six out of every 10 Galaxy Z8 devices ordered.

Galaxy Z Fold8 draws younger content consumers

Samsung attributes the Galaxy Z Fold8’s demand partly to its form factor, which supports entertainment and content experiences such as short-form videos, webtoons, games and e-books.

Its 4:3 main display provides more viewing space when unfolded, while its 201-gram body makes it Samsung’s lightest Galaxy Z Fold model to date.

The device is available in several colors. Graphite and Lavender emerged as the most popular Galaxy Z Fold8 choices among buyers in Southeast Asia and Oceania.

Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra targets productivity

The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is positioned for users who want a larger screen for work and multitasking.

Its 8-inch main display provides additional space for running applications, reviewing content and completing productivity tasks. Samsung also upgraded its camera system to improve detail, color and clarity.

Among regional buyers, Violet Shadow and Graphite were the leading Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra color choices.

Galaxy Z Flip8 focuses on portability

The Galaxy Z Flip8 offers a more compact foldable option for users who prioritize portability and self-expression.

Samsung describes it as the company’s sleekest Galaxy Z Flip model. Its redesigned FlexWindow allows users to access applications, information, actions and AI assistance from the cover screen without fully opening the phone.

Pink and Graphite were the most popular Galaxy Z Flip8 colors during the regional pre-order period.

New Galaxy watches expand the ecosystem

Samsung also introduced the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Galaxy Watch9 alongside its foldable devices.

The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is designed for active users who need greater durability and endurance for outdoor activities. The Galaxy Watch9 serves as an everyday health, wellness and productivity companion.

Together, the devices expand Samsung’s connected AI ecosystem across smartphones and wearables.

Samsung’s Galaxy Z8 series pre-order campaign in the Philippines runs until August 13, 2026.
