Globe and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) have formalized a new partnership to fight fraud and scams in the digital space.
The two parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that establishes a Collaborative Framework for Fraud Prevention and Investigation. The framework ensures tighter cooperation between Globe, DICT, and its attached agencies including the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), the National Privacy Commission (NPC), and the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC).
The partnership aims to strengthen consumer protection against identity theft, phishing, SMS scams, and other cybercrimes that continue to rise.
DICT Secretary Henry Aguda stressed that collaboration between government and the private sector is key to creating a safe and trusted digital ecosystem. He said that with partners like Globe, the government can take bold steps toward ensuring every Filipino is connected and protected.
Globe President and CEO Carl Cruz reaffirmed Globe’s commitment to digital trust. He noted that connectivity must go together with safety, and by joining forces with DICT, Globe can help strengthen defenses against fraudsters and ensure technology is used responsibly.
The MOU is effective immediately and will run for two years, subject to renewal. Regular reviews will be conducted to ensure the framework adapts to evolving threats.
This initiative marks a benchmark for industry–government partnerships in advancing digital trust and safeguarding Filipinos online.
