How to Get Your Digital Tin Id Through the Egovph App

Your TIN ID may now be viewed through the eGovPH app, giving taxpayers a more convenient way to access their government ID when needed.

Your Taxpayer Identification Number, or TIN, is one of those details you rarely think about until a bank, employer, government office, or online form suddenly asks for it.

Now, the Bureau of Internal Revenue is giving taxpayers another way to access that information using their phone.

The Digital TIN ID is now available through the official eGovPH app, where users can view it through the Mobile ID Wallet feature. This is not just a saved photo or screenshot of a TIN card. It is a digital version that may be presented through the app for proper verification.

The Digital TIN ID was first made available through BIR’s Online Registration and Update System, or ORUS, in 2023. With Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 34-2026, taxpayers now have another access point through the eGovPH mobile app.

What Is The Digital TIN ID?

The Digital TIN ID is the electronic version of the taxpayer’s TIN identification card.

According to the BIR, it may be accepted as a valid government-issued ID for transactions, as long as it can be properly verified by the receiving party.

This can be useful for Filipinos who need quick access to their TIN ID for employment, banking, business, government forms, and other transactions where a TIN or government-issued ID may be required.

How To Access Your Digital TIN ID Through eGovPH

To check if your Digital TIN ID is already available, download the eGovPH app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

Create an account or log in using your existing credentials. After logging in, complete the app’s identity verification process. This may include facial recognition and other verification steps required by the platform.

Once your account is verified, tap the Digital ID icon or go to the Mobile ID Wallet section of the app.

If your eGovPH profile matches your BIR records, or if you already have an existing Digital TIN ID through ORUS, your BIR Digital TIN ID should appear in the app.

What To Do If Your Digital TIN ID Does Not Appear

If your Digital TIN ID does not show up in the eGovPH app, you may still need to apply for it through BIR’s ORUS platform first.

Taxpayers with an existing TIN may apply for a Digital TIN ID whether or not they already have a physical TIN card.

For those applying through ORUS, the BIR requires users to create an ORUS account. Taxpayers also need to make sure their email address is updated with their Revenue District Office.

A current 1×1 photo with a white background is also required. The photo must have been taken within the last six months.

How The Digital TIN ID Is Verified

One important detail taxpayers should remember is that verification depends on where the Digital TIN ID was generated.

If the Digital TIN ID was created through ORUS, its authenticity may be checked by scanning the QR code on the ID.

If the Digital TIN ID was generated or accessed through eGovPH, verification may be done by presenting the ID directly within the eGovPH app.

This means a screenshot may not always be enough, especially when the receiving party needs to verify the ID. The safer option is to open the eGovPH app and present the Digital TIN ID from the Mobile ID Wallet.

Why This Matters

The Digital TIN ID gives taxpayers a more practical way to access an important government ID without always relying on a physical card.

For employees, job applicants, business owners, freelancers, and everyday taxpayers, this can help make transactions more convenient, especially when a TIN ID is needed on short notice.

It also supports the government’s wider push toward digital public services, where more official documents and IDs can be accessed securely through mobile platforms.

What Taxpayers Should Remember

Your Digital TIN ID gives you easier access to an important government ID, but it should be presented properly.

Download the eGovPH app, verify your account, check the Mobile ID Wallet, and make sure your BIR records are updated. When using the Digital TIN ID for transactions, open it directly from the app instead of relying only on a screenshot.
