Crunchyroll has announced Sekiro: No Defeat, the anime adaptation of FromSoftware Inc.’s 2019 game Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. The series was revealed during Gamescom 2025’s Opening Night Live.
The anime will be fully hand-drawn, produced by Kadokawa, Qzil.la, and ARCH. It will stream exclusively on Crunchyroll in 2026, covering all territories except Japan, China, Korea, Russia, and Belarus.
Sekiro: No Defeat will stay faithful to the game’s story of loyalty, vengeance, and supernatural conflict. The adaptation will reimagine the Sengoku-era setting in a cinematic style that mirrors the intensity of the game.
Kenichi Kutsuna, known for his work on Naruto: Shippuden, Bleach, and Paranoia Agent, will direct the series. Screenwriter Takuya Satou (Fate/stay night) and character designer Takahiro Kishida (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind) are also part of the production team.
This marks another milestone for FromSoftware’s acclaimed titles entering new media, bringing the world of Sekiro to anime audiences.
