A 90-Minute Race Against Time in “Mercy” Starring Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson
Chris Pratt returns to the big screen in Mercy, a gripping sci-fi thriller that questions justice in a world ruled by artificial intelligence. The film, distributed in the Philippines by Columbia Pictures, also stars Rebecca Ferguson and will be shown in cinemas soon, including IMAX and 3D.

Set in a near-future society, Mercy follows a detective (Pratt) accused of murdering his wife. He finds himself facing trial under the control of an advanced A.I. judicial system he once defended. With just 90 minutes to prove his innocence, he must navigate the cold logic of the very machine that now acts as judge, jury, and executioner.
Rebecca Ferguson plays the A.I. Judge, designed to eliminate human bias in the justice system. What unfolds is a tense psychological duel between human instinct and artificial reasoning. As time ticks away, the detective must unravel hidden truths and confront his own moral code in a system that no longer recognizes emotion or empathy.

The trailer reveals sleek visuals, an intense courtroom setup, and chilling moments of human vulnerability. It teases high-stakes suspense, moral questions, and a dystopian vision that feels uncomfortably close to reality. Fans of Ex Machina and Minority Report will find familiar themes of accountability, free will, and technology’s reach into human life.
“Mercy” is a Columbia Pictures release through Sony Pictures Releasing International. The film will be available soon in Philippine theaters.
