Artificial intelligence is slowly making its way into travel planning. A recent Kaspersky survey shows only 28% of travelers use AI to plan their trips, but over 90% of them were happy with the results.
Among those who used AI for travel, 96% said the experience was satisfying, with 44% calling it “perfect.” Even more telling, 84% of them plan to use AI again for future trips. The survey covered 3,000 respondents across 15 countries.
Key findings:
- 72% of internet users use AI in general, rising to 88% among those under 35.
- 28% use AI in travel planning, with families with children more likely to do so.
- 70% trust AI to suggest excursions, routes, and shops.
- 66% use AI to find accommodation, 60% for restaurants, and 58% for tickets.
- Booking tasks are less common, with 45% booking hotels and 43% flights through AI.
- 45% even asked AI about visa and migration issues, raising concerns about accuracy.
Kaspersky warns that while AI is helpful, travelers should always double-check information and stay secure online. Misuse of AI for critical travel documents can lead to problems, as shown by recent cases of travelers receiving incorrect visa advice.
