At the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) 2025, Alibaba unveils intelligent cockpits, cutting-edge AI glasses, and transformative enterprise partnerships—showcasing how AI is reshaping mobility, urban sustainability, and wearable technology. These innovations, all powered by Alibaba’s proprietary Qwen large language models (LLMs), signal the company’s bold leap from experimental AI to real-world applications.
Alibaba Unveils Intelligent Cockpits
In partnership with Qualcomm and Banma, Alibaba introduced a next-gen automotive cockpit built on its large multimodal model (LMM) capabilities. The system runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8397 platform, integrating voice, vision, and predictive reasoning to deliver a smoother, proactive in-car experience. Users can interact with Yan AI, Banma’s assistant, to control navigation, entertainment, and comfort settings. More than just reactive, the system anticipates needs—like recommending music or adjusting the cabin temperature during long drives.
AI for Urban Efficiency: Global Qwen Partnerships
Alibaba also announced its expanded enterprise integrations, most notably with Signify, a global leader in lighting solutions. Signify now utilizes Qwen-powered GenAI agents to operate its Interact City Flex platform, enabling AI-assisted smart streetlight control via natural language commands. The technology reduces energy use, enhances maintenance, and supports city-wide sustainability goals.
“By embedding Qwen into our lighting systems, we empower cities to save energy and operate more intelligently,” said Hans Nikol of Signify. This collaboration strengthens Alibaba’s growing influence in digital urban infrastructure.
Introducing Quark AI Glasses: Wearable Intelligence Begins
Also making waves at WAIC 2025: Alibaba’s debut of Quark AI Glasses, an AI-powered wearable built for professionals and tech-savvy users. Featuring hands-free calls, music playback, real-time translation, and meeting transcription, the glasses are designed for daily use. Integrated with Alibaba’s ecosystem—including Amap, Alipay, Taobao, and Fliggy—the glasses enable seamless navigation, payment, and shopping through voice-activated interactions.
With a lightweight design, strong battery life, and Qwen-driven multimodal AI, Quark AI Glasses mark Alibaba’s official entry into the smart wearables space. A release is expected in China by the end of 2025.
As of today, Alibaba’s Qwen series has surpassed 400 million downloads and generated over 140,000 derivative models, making it one of the world’s most widely adopted open-source AI frameworks. With intelligent cockpits, wearable assistants, and enterprise-grade agents, Alibaba continues to demonstrate the transformative power of AI in everyday life.
