Will Mikhael Brings Back Disco Through “M.K.S.”

Be ready to get your groove on and vibe to “M.K.S.” — the cool new disco single of Cebu-based singer-songwriter Will Mikhael.

“M.K.S.” — abbreviated from Mahal Kita Sinta — is a funky disco track that can make anyone want to dance. It has all the right ingredients: the bouncy electric drum kit, the percussive instruments, the exhilarating electronic rhythm-guitar, the fun and energetic string riffs.

While the instrumental itself can make one dance uncontrollably, the songwriting interestingly showcases a more tender side of the track. “M.K.S.” is a love confession dressed up as a dance song, with verses that reinforce the feeling of not being able to tell someone that you like them.

And that M.K.S. part? Very, very catchy, in a Village People and Hagibis kind of way.

The song is both modern and nostalgic, introducing the disco-funk vibe to younger audiences and providing nostalgia to those that grew up with the genre.

With such a fun track, we can only be excited for what else this promising Cebuano talent can come up with.
