Wicked For Good PH dominates cinemas with record opening
Wicked For Good delivered a strong start in Philippine cinemas. The film earned 163.5 million pesos in its 5 day opening weekend. You see the jump at 54 percent compared to the first Wicked film. You see the Philippines place sixth in global sales outside the United States. You see Universal mark this as the biggest opening weekend in 2025 and the biggest since 2018.

The momentum came from high advance ticket sales. Local fans booked early. Cinema chains reported strong turnout across Metro Manila and provincial cities. You felt the demand as screenings filled fast.
Universal Pictures Philippines released a new music video to add to the hype. The video featured the winners of the Awiting Wicked For Good competition. These singers recorded their own version of the For Good duet. Winners Fatima Soria and Pia Casing, Jezza Quiogue and Nowi Alpuerto, and Kyle Quinco and Tiffany Vistal met Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande at the Singapore premiere. You sense the excitement in every clip.
The video also included cameos from Markki Stroem, Ai dela Cruz, Precious Paula Nicole, Brigiding, Lenie Aycardo, and Hajie Alejandro. You can watch the video on Facebook.
Wicked For Good continues the story that captured global attention last year. Director Jon M Chu returns with Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande in the lead roles. The film follows Elphaba and Glinda as they deal with the weight of their choices. You see high drama and sharp emotional beats.
Producers Marc Platt and David Stone lead the team. Executive producers include Stephen Schwartz, David Nicksay, Jared LeBoff, Winnie Holzman and Dana Fox. The first Wicked film earned ten Oscar nominations and won for Costume Design and Production Design. It earned 750 million dollars worldwide. Wicked For Good builds on that success with a story rooted in friendship, loyalty, and consequence.
You can watch Wicked For Good in cinemas nationwide.
