Anderson .Paak and Cordae Celebrate Brotherhood on ‘Heavy Is the Crown’

Anderson .Paak and Cordae have released Heavy Is the Crown, an 11-track collaborative album that brings their shared sense of humor, musical chemistry, and reflections on brotherhood into one project.

Released on October 26, 2026, via APESHIT / Hi Level / EMPIRE, the album expands a partnership listeners first heard on “RNP” and later on “Two Tens.” This time, the pair have a full-length record to explore their connection through funk, neo-soul, live instrumentation, and lyrical hip-hop.

A Friendship at the Center

Brotherhood, resilience, and legacy form the album’s central themes, according to the release announcement. The project moves between witty exchanges and more reflective passages, giving space to both the playful and thoughtful sides of their partnership.

That humor also shapes its visual identity. The album artwork references the comedy Step Brothers, reflecting the duo’s easygoing dynamic.

Producers Behind the Record

The album brings together production contributions from J. Cole, Swizz Beatz, Conductor Williams, 9th Wonder, FNZ, and Hollywood Cole.

Conductor Williams produces “Crown,” while 9th Wonder contributes to “You’re Mine.” FNZ works on “Helpless” and “I’m On,” with Hollywood Cole also producing the latter. Swizz Beatz contributes to the closing track, “Godfather II.”

The lineup supports a project built around the meeting of .Paak’s funk and soul sensibilities and Cordae’s lyrical approach.

Manila Joins the Launch Campaign

For Filipino fans, the rollout includes a local connection. The announcement identifies Manila and Jakarta as locations for outdoor album promotions featuring oversized posters designed to encourage selfies and social sharing.
