Visa has teamed up with RCBC to launch Visa Direct in the Philippines, unlocking faster, more secure, and easier international money transfers for consumers and businesses.
Visa Direct enables real-time payments to over 8.5 billion endpoints in more than 190 countries. It supports bank accounts, cards, and digital wallets. This partnership allows RCBC users to send funds globally with speed and ease, directly from their bank or app.
According to the World Bank, cross-border payments reached $905 billion in 2024, growing by 4.6% from 2023. Filipinos are among the most active users of digital remittances in Asia Pacific, with 74% preferring to send money digitally.
Visa and RCBC aim to drive growth in outbound payments while promoting financial inclusion. Enhanced features like fraud detection and multi-currency wallets are planned.
Visa Country Manager Jeffrey Navarro said Visa Direct will expand Filipinos’ access to global opportunities. RCBC EVP Lito Villanueva highlighted the service’s role in inclusive banking.
RCBC CEO Reginaldo Cariaso reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to speed, security, and flexibility.
