The logistics provider helped move critical equipment for the Starlink-powered Free Wi-Fi initiative serving public schools in remote communities.
2GO has been recognized by Data Lake Inc. for its role in the successful rollout of the PIALEOS Project, a connectivity initiative under the Department of Information and Communications Technology’s Free Wi-Fi for All program, with the Department of Education as a key beneficiary.
The PIALEOS Project, led by Data Lake Inc. with joint venture partner We Are IT, Inc., aims to deliver high-speed satellite internet connectivity to geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas across the Philippines. Powered by Starlink technology, the project brings internet access to public schools that have long faced challenges in digital connectivity.
For 2GO, the recognition highlights its role beyond logistics. Through the timely and efficient movement of equipment, the company helped support the rapid deployment of connectivity infrastructure to far-flung and hard-to-reach communities.
Data Lake Inc., the first and largest authorized Starlink reseller in the Philippines, works with government partners to support digital transformation and resilient digital infrastructure. Through PIALEOS, the company helps provide reliable high-speed internet access to public schools and institutions, strengthening access to education and public services.
Ria Valdez, Vice President for Operations of Data Lake Inc., shared that the project faced challenges such as long travel, storms, power interruptions, changing site lists, and repeated trips to remote areas. Despite these, she said the team remained focused on the purpose of the work.
“Because this project was never just about connection. It’s about hope, opportunity, access, and the future of our students and our communities,” Valdez said.
Jose Cobarrubias, Chief Operating Officer of Data Lake Inc., also emphasized the shared mission behind the project, saying that internet access can open opportunities for students and communities.
“It’s giving that one student a chance to realize their dreams,” Cobarrubias said. “It makes everything possible.”
Faye Alonzo, Business Unit Head of 2GO Forwarding, said the company is proud to support initiatives that create meaningful impact across the country.
“Our role goes beyond moving cargo. We help drive progress by ensuring that essential infrastructure reaches the areas that need it most, including students who now have better access to education and opportunities that can shape their future,” Alonzo said.
As part of the milestone, 2GO also received the Special Leadership Award in Delivery Operations for its contribution to the project. The award recognizes the company’s ability to support complex and large-scale deployments with speed, consistency, and operational discipline.
Through its multimodal and tailored logistics solutions, 2GO continues to support projects that connect communities, improve access to essential services, and help people and businesses move forward.
