Swedish pop star Tove Lo has announced her sixth studio album, “ESTRUS,” set for release on September 18 under Pretty Swede Records / Virgin Music Group.
Alongside the album announcement, the GRAMMY®-nominated artist released her new track “I’m your girl right?” together with its official music video directed by Nogari. The video was filmed outside São Paulo, Brazil, in a former monastery and features more than 70 dancers. It also marks Tove Lo’s second collaboration with Nogari following “Borderline” in 2023.
“The first song and video from my new album ESTRUS are out. I know you’ve been waiting a long time and I hope it’s worth the wait. It was for me,” Tove Lo shared. “We shot this video in Brazil and I think it turned out so stunning. The best crew ever.”
The upcoming album features 13 tracks, including “a lot of feelings, no solutions,” “I’m your girl right?,” “des fleurs x stromae,” “I’m the cake,” “idiot,” and “source of life.”
According to Tove Lo, “ESTRUS” explores a more primal and honest side of her artistry. The album title refers to a female mammal in heat, reflecting the record’s themes of instinct, desire, emotional conflict, and vulnerability.
“Estrus is an animal in heat. It’s primal. It’s my mind and my body wanting different things, wanting everything. There’s no good advice on this album… just a lot of feelings, no solutions,” she said.
The album draws inspiration from The Knife, Robyn, and Swedish indie dance music. It was recorded in Los Angeles, Stockholm, and a small fishing village in Sweden where Tove Lo spent summers as a child. She worked on the project with longtime collaborator Ludvig Söderberg, along with Elvira Anderfjärd and Luka Kloser, and also features a collaboration with Belgian artist Stromae.
Tove Lo also announced her 2026 ESTRUS Tour, beginning with six North American release shows starting September 15 in Nashville. The tour will continue in the UK and Europe in November, with more shows expected to be announced in 2027.
Support acts include Mallrat for the North American dates, Cobrah as special guest for the Brooklyn show, and Rose Gray for the UK and Europe leg.
Tickets go on general sale beginning Wednesday, May 20 at 10 a.m. local time, while presale access starts Monday, May 18.
