Teeth’S 1995 Debut Sells Out on Vinyl Ahead of Manila Reunion Show

The first-ever vinyl edition of the Filipino rock band’s Double Platinum debut sold out within a day as TEETH prepares for its September 5 concert at SM North EDSA Skydome.

More than three decades after its original release, TEETH’s self-titled debut album continues to connect with Filipino rock listeners.

The album’s first-ever vinyl edition, released as a newly remastered limited pressing, sold out within a day. The milestone comes ahead of the Manila stop of Year 33: TEETH The Reunion – Legacy Tour on September 5, 2026.

Backspacer Records handled the pressing and distribution of the vinyl release, bringing the band’s landmark 1995 album to the format for the first time.

A Double Platinum album returns

Originally released in 1995, TEETH was certified Double Platinum by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry after exceeding 80,000 copies.

The album became an important part of the Philippine alternative rock movement of the 1990s, helping establish TEETH’s sound through a mix of alternative rock and grunge.

The newly remastered vinyl edition was designed as more than a physical reissue. It comes in a gatefold jacket featuring reimagined front and back artwork hand-painted by Nix Puno.

The package also includes never-before-seen photographs, rare published articles, original handwritten lyrics from drummer Mike Dizon’s personal collection, and liner notes written by Diego Castillo.

A record that connects generations

Backspacer Records’ Robert Tuazon said the strong demand reflects the album’s impact across generations and the continuing cultural value of physical music formats.

Guitarist Jerome Velasco hoped the release would feel like “a total time machine” for longtime listeners while allowing younger audiences to experience the energy that shaped the band’s music during the 1990s.

Following the rapid sellout, Dizon said the team is exploring a possible re-press, subject to Warner’s approval. The band hopes additional stocks can become available before its upcoming reunion shows, although no final release schedule has been confirmed.

TEETH brings its reunion tour to Manila

The vinyl milestone arrives as TEETH prepares for its five-city reunion tour covering Singapore, Manila, Cebu, Davao, and Tagum.

Manila will serve as the tour’s second stop on September 5, 2026, at 6 p.m. at the SM North EDSA Skydome. The concert is produced by Minsan Studio.

The current original-member lineup features Glenn Jacinto on vocals, Jerome Velasco on guitars, Pedz Narvaja on bass, Mike Dizon on drums, and Dok Sergio on guitars.

Formed in 1993, TEETH became known for its alternative rock and grunge sound before exploring shoegaze influences on albums such as I Was A Teenage Tree. The group has also received three NU Rock Awards and two MTV Pilipinas Awards nominations.

Tickets for the Manila reunion concert are available through SM Tickets and SM ticket outlets nationwide. Pre-sale rates are available until August 20, 2026.
