Tottenham Hotspur Football Club made history in Hong Kong with the first-ever North London derby played outside London. The historic match was the highlight of AIA One Billion Week, a regional initiative that promotes healthier, longer, better lives across Asia.
The week-long celebration at AIA Vitality Park featured football clinics, fan challenges, and community activities. Filipino youth from AIA’s Here to Play tournament joined the festivities, including champions Team Success and Tigulang FC. They met Spurs stars James Maddison, Micky Van de Ven, Guglielmo Vicario, and Lucas Vergball, who shared lessons on resilience and motivation.
AIA Philippines CMO Melissa Henson said the partnership with Spurs shows how sports can inspire youth to live healthier lives. Spurs and AIA have worked together for 12 years, running football clinics for over 160,000 children and delivering programs on wellness and inclusion across Asia.
The match also brought lighter moments. AIA ambassadors Wil Dasovich and Nico Bolzico amused fans when they joined in on a playful stadium kiss cam, drawing cheers from Filipino fans online.
For Spurs, the derby in Hong Kong was more than a match. It was a step toward uniting fans worldwide and showing how football can break borders while inspiring healthier habits across communities.
