South Korean Rappers Kim Ximya Releases ‘Dogma’, His First Full-Length Album in Six Years

Kim Ximya has released ‘Dogma’, his second full-length album and first in six years. The 10-track digital release follows the surprise arrival of a 26-minute video of the same name on September 4, offering fans two distinct ways to experience the project.

Across all ten tracks, Ximya worked with Sound Supply Service, a label recognised for its innovative and distinctive sound. The project also extends beyond its digital release, with a limited physical edition that takes an unconventional form: a compact listening device with a built-in speaker rather than a traditional CD. From the beginning, it was announced that the physical edition would feature music that differs from the digital release, adding another layer to the listening experience. The edition sold 3,500 copies through pre-orders alone, temporarily selling out at select retailers. 

The album’s release follows the premiere of the 26-minute ‘Dogma’ music video, directed by artist and filmmaker Park Chan-kyong. The film brings together Park’s own paintings and video work with archival footage from the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea (MMCA), reworked into a new visual piece for ‘Dogma’.
