Zoë Kravitz and John C. Reilly Form an Unlikely Team in “How to Rob a Bank”

Zoë Kravitz and John C. Reilly bring contrasting perspectives to “How to Rob a Bank,” arriving in Philippine cinemas on November 11, 2026.

Directed by David Leitch, the film follows an investigation into masked bank robbers whose livestreamed crimes attract an expanding audience.

Reilly plays FBI special agent John West, who forms an unlikely partnership with Reagan Gardner, a software engineer under house arrest played by Kravitz.

Their different skills may help the investigation, but their views on authority and justice create tension along the way.

Reilly describes West as someone shaped by an analog world and struggling to understand the speed of digital change. His character believes that maintaining order requires rules that cannot simply be set aside according to personal opinion.

Gardner brings a different relationship with technology and power. Kravitz said she was drawn to a story that encourages questions without forcing a single position on its audience.

As the investigation develops, West’s view of Gardner becomes more complicated. He begins to recognize someone whose intelligence and interest in justice extend beyond her usefulness to the case.

Leitch said Kravitz brought strength and complexity to the role, helping shape a character with her own frustrations and perspective.

The cast also includes Nicholas Hoult, Anna Sawai, Rhenzy Feliz, Christian Slater, and Pete Davidson.

At its center, the film uses an unconventional partnership to explore a familiar digital-age question: what happens when public attention becomes part of the crime itself?
