“Resident Evil” Scores a Franchise Best of PHP 77-M on Its Opening Weekend in the Philippines

Resident Evil keeps breaking records as it closes out the opening weekend at the top of the box office. Zach Cregger’s reinvention of the beloved franchise earned PHP 77,108,134, 313, making it the biggest Resident Evil opening weekend in the Philippines.

The horror film dominated the screens over the weekend, taking 72% of the market share. Fans of the original video games, Zach Cregger film enthusiasts, and horror aficionados flocked to the cinemas to see the latest offering of the man behind “Barbarian” and “Weapons.” The film has also garnered a Rotten Tomatoes Certified Fresh score of 96%, and an audience score of 91%
