The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) has been recognized for its outstanding support and dedication to the 2024 National Teachers’ Month (NTM), an initiative celebrating the invaluable contributions of Filipino educators.
The Department of Education (DepEd) and the Metrobank Foundation commended PHLPost for its steadfast advocacy in honoring teachers and promoting the teaching profession in the country. The recognition was formally presented to Jocelyn Edralin Cacho, Executive Assistant of the PHLPost Office of the Postmaster General, by DepEd Secretary Juan Edgardo “Sonny” M. Angara, Metrobank Foundation President Aniceto M. Sobrepeña, and Metrobank Foundation Executive Vice President Philip Francisco U. Dy on March 11 in Makati City.
“It is truly an honor to receive this recognition, as it affirms that PHLPost is making meaningful contributions to honoring teachers through its education-focused initiatives,” shared Ms. Cacho.
Held annually from September 5 to October 5, NTM is a collaborative movement led by the Metrobank Foundation, DepEd, and various multi-sectoral groups. Under the “My Teacher, My Hero” campaign, the initiative extends Teacher’s Day celebrations beyond schools and into the broader public sphere, reinforcing the role of educators in nation-building.
During the program, PHLPost and DepEd also discussed the department’s support for distributing NTM stamps, further solidifying their commitment to the cause. Additionally, DepEd reaffirmed its backing for PHLPost’s National Letter Writing Competition, a joint initiative encouraging students to engage in the art of letter writing while recognizing the contributions of teachers.
Through these continued efforts, PHLPost remains dedicated to fostering appreciation for educators and supporting meaningful initiatives that celebrate their impact on the nation.
