Payoneer marked 20 years globally and nine years in the Philippines with VIP Connect Manila, its flagship event themed “20 Years of Empowering Businesses to Go Global.” The event gathered leaders from e-commerce, IT, marketing, healthcare, and outsourcing, reaffirming Payoneer’s role as a growth partner for Filipino small and medium businesses (SMBs).
The Philippines is a priority market, with the IT-BPM sector generating $38 billion in 2024, employing 1.82 million, and contributing 9% to GDP. Its 1.5 million gig workers further establish the country as a hub for skilled talent.
Monique Avila, Payoneer’s Head of Customer Success for APAC, said the company’s cross-border payment solutions now support businesses in 190+ countries and territories across 10 currencies. She emphasized Payoneer’s role in helping Filipino entrepreneurs thrive on the world stage.
During VIP Connect Manila, entrepreneurs shared success stories. Big Ideas PH CEO Mon Macutay highlighted how Payoneer helped him overcome client payment delays, while VH BPO CEO EJ Hamodiong credited the platform for supporting his company’s global expansion. Ardent Paralegal’s Ian Lawrence Logan and Strategic Assistant Services’ Regina Regencia also shared how Payoneer became more than a payment provider by offering account support and networking.
The event launched Payoneer Workforce Management (WFM), a solution for hiring, onboarding, and paying workers in 160+ countries without setting up local entities. WFM, formerly Skuad, ensures compliance with employment laws while providing payroll, insurance, workspace access, and visa support.
Payoneer also unveiled platform upgrades such as branded tax-compliant invoicing, faster bank withdrawals, and smarter FX tools with real-time USD-to-PHP alerts. These innovations strengthen Payoneer’s promise to simplify global business and empower Filipino SMBs with seamless cross-border growth.
