Nissan Philippines and internationally acclaimed Filipino artist Quiccs Maiquez brought automotive design and contemporary art together at the 10th Philippine International Motor Show, expanding a collaboration that turns vehicles into stories of movement, character, and self-expression.

First unveiled at the Nissan Festival in February 2026, the Nissan-Quiccs collaboration introduced a crossover between automotive culture and collectible art.

At PIMS, the partnership moved into its next chapter with a larger showcase inspired by Nissan’s featured electrified lineup.

The collaboration reflects a wider cultural shift where creativity moves freely across industries—from cars and fashion to street art, technology, and collectible toys.

Vehicles Reimagined as Characters

For the PIMS showcase, Quiccs created new artworks inspired by four Nissan models: the Nissan X-Trail e-POWER, Nissan Kicks e-POWER, Nissan Navara Pro Plug-in Hybrid, and Nissan Primera EV.

Each artwork adopted the colorway of its corresponding vehicle while translating Nissan’s design philosophy into Quiccs’ distinct visual style.

Through this approach, the vehicles were not presented only as mobility solutions. They were reimagined as characters with their own personality, attitude, and story.

Design Through a Filipino Creative Lens

Quiccs said each vehicle presented a different creative challenge.

He described the X-Trail e-POWER as refined and adventurous, the Kicks e-POWER as youthful and energetic, the Navara Pro Plug-in Hybrid as strong and capable, and the Primera EV as a bold vision of the future.

His goal was to reflect each vehicle’s unique personality while keeping a cohesive visual identity across the collection.

“What excited me most about this collaboration was the opportunity to reinterpret Nissan’s vehicles through my own creative lens,” Quiccs said.

He added that the project allowed him to explore how design principles such as shape, color, attitude, and storytelling can exist in both automotive design and collectible art.

Automotive Innovation Meets Collectible Culture

The showcase blurred the line between cars and collectibles.

While vehicles and designer toys belong to different spaces, both are shaped by emotional connection. A car can represent movement, freedom, lifestyle, and identity. A collectible can tell stories through form, detail, and culture.

The Nissan-Quiccs collaboration brought these ideas together by showing how mobility can inspire art and how art can help audiences see vehicles in a new way.

Connecting Through Culture and Creativity

For Nissan Philippines, the collaboration is part of a broader effort to engage audiences through design, culture, and self-expression.

“At Nissan, design goes beyond vehicles, it’s about creating emotional connections,” said Yoshinori Kanazawa, President of Nissan Philippines.

He said the partnership with Quiccs celebrates creativity by bringing automotive innovation and contemporary art together in a way that connects with enthusiasts, collectors, and culture-driven audiences.

Filipino Creativity in Motion

More than an automotive display, the Nissan-Quiccs collaboration showed how Filipino creativity can move across industries and reach broader communities.

By combining electrified mobility with contemporary art, the showcase invited car enthusiasts, collectors, artists, and pop culture fans to experience Nissan’s design language from a different perspective.

It also reinforced a meaningful idea: design is not limited to one category. It can connect people, inspire imagination, and create conversations across mobility, art, and culture.
