GAC GS4 Max Hev Launches in the Philippines with Up to 1,250-Km Range

The new family-focused hybrid SUV combines a 232-hp hybrid system, Level 2 driver assistance, flexible cabin space, and a claimed driving range of up to 1,250 kilometers.
GAC Philippines is expanding its electrified vehicle lineup with the official launch of the GAC GS4 MAX HEV, a new hybrid SUV designed around the everyday needs of growing Filipino families.
Launched on August 20, the GS4 MAX HEV combines a 2.0-liter hybrid powertrain, generous passenger space, advanced driver assistance features, and a claimed total combined driving range of up to 1,250 kilometers on a single tank.
It enters the Philippine market with a suggested retail price of ₱1,298,000, while an introductory price of ₱1,218,000 is available for reservations made until September 30, 2026.
“With the introduction of the GS4 MAX HEV, we are thrilled to offer modern Filipino families a high-value hybrid SUV that balances practical comfort, reliability, and exceptional efficiency,” said Calvin Cheng, General Manager of GAC Philippines.
The model joins GAC’s existing SUV portfolio alongside the EMKOO, GS3 EMZOOM, and GS8.
Hybrid Power With Up to 1,250 Kilometers of Range
At the heart of the GS4 MAX HEV is a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle dedicated hybrid engine paired with a 2-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission and a 2.1 kWh Nickel Cobalt Manganese battery.
The hybrid system can operate through Pure Electric, Hybrid, Direct Engine Drive, and Energy Recuperation modes depending on driving conditions.
According to GAC, the system produces a combined 232 hp or 173 kW, while the electric motor delivers up to 300 N·m of torque.
Its headline number, however, is range.
GAC claims the GS4 MAX HEV can travel up to 1,250 kilometers on a single tank, positioning the vehicle for both daily urban driving and longer family trips without the range considerations associated with a fully electric vehicle.
Designed Around Family Space
The GS4 MAX HEV has a 2,750 mm wheelbase and measures 1,901 mm wide, dimensions GAC says contribute to generous legroom and shoulder room across both rows.
Inside, the SUV gets a Minimalist Black cabin, panoramic glass roof with electric sunshade, rear passenger air vents, storage compartments, and what GAC describes as zero-pressure comfort seats.
The second-row seats can also fold completely flat to create a continuous load floor for larger cargo such as luggage, sports equipment, or strollers.
For families using one vehicle for daily commutes, school runs, shopping, and weekend travel, that flexibility becomes one of the GS4 MAX HEV’s more practical features.
Level 2 Driver Assistance Comes Standard in the Package
Safety is another major part of the GS4 MAX HEV proposition.
The vehicle uses a safety-cage body structure incorporating high-strength and ultra-high-strength steel in key areas.
Its airbag system includes dual front, front-side, second-row side, and one-piece woven side curtain airbags.
GAC also equips the SUV with a Level 2 Driver Assistance Suite featuring:
- Adaptive Cruise Control
- Forward Collision Warning
- Autonomous Emergency Braking
- Traffic Jam Assist
- Lane Keep Assist
- Lane Departure Warning
- Integrated Cruise Assist
- Surround View Camera System
These technologies are designed to provide additional assistance during highway driving, traffic, parking, and other everyday driving situations.
Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and 50W Wireless Charging
Technology inside the cabin centers on a 10.1-inch multifunction touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
The driver also gets a 7-inch LCD digital instrument cluster, while an aircraft-inspired gear selector adds a distinctive touch to the center console.
A 50W wireless smartphone charger includes a built-in cooling fan intended to help manage device temperature while charging.
Outside, GAC gives the GS4 MAX HEV a Qilin-inspired front fascia, Qingyun Ladder matrix grille, Morning Star LED headlights, full-width Changhong LED taillights, and electric hidden door handles.

Warranty and Ownership Support
GAC Philippines currently operates a nationwide network of 30 dealerships and maintains a dedicated local parts warehouse.
Owners also receive two years of free roadside assistance.
For GAC’s PHEV and HEV models, including the GS4 MAX, the company provides a 5-year or 150,000-km basic warranty, whichever comes first.
The power battery, driving motor, and motor control unit are covered for 8 years or 150,000 kilometers, subject to the applicable warranty terms.
A Hybrid SUV Built Around Everyday Use
The GS4 MAX HEV enters a Philippine market where buyers are increasingly looking at electrified vehicles without necessarily wanting to move directly to a fully electric car.
For GAC, the new model addresses that space by combining hybrid efficiency with the size, flexibility, and familiar refueling experience of a conventional family SUV.
Its 1,250-kilometer claimed range may grab the most attention, but the broader story is about balance: enough space for family life, technology for everyday convenience, driver assistance for added confidence, and hybrid efficiency for longer journeys.
The GAC GS4 MAX HEV is now available for reservation at GAC dealerships nationwide.
