Global cyber security firm NCC Group is expanding its cyber security capabilities in the Philippines as it marks 25 years in the industry. The company is focusing on local talent development, with plans for specialized skills training, mentorship, and certifications.

NCC Group opened its Manila office in early 2024. Since then, it has strengthened its presence through continuous learning programs and by offering its services to Philippine-based firms.

“Our Manila office is now a hub for specialized cyber expertise. We aim to support our clients while developing Filipino tech talent,” said NCC Group SVP and Philippines Country Leader Mirei Magallona.

Cyber security key to growth
The push comes as local companies increase investments in tech. Forrester’s Asia Pacific Tech Market Forecast predicts a 9.4% growth in tech spending for the Philippines in 2025. AI and cyber security are among the top priorities.

According to Cisco’s 2025 Cyber security Readiness Index, 9 in 10 Filipino firms are already using AI for threat intelligence. Half of them plan to automate further but remain cautious about effectiveness and trust.

British Ambassador to the Philippines Laure Beaufils emphasized that cyber security is now a core part of economic strategy and national security.

Magallona added that Filipino firms must adopt a risk-based approach. “Understand what matters to the business. Identify critical assets, assess vulnerabilities, and create policies that can adapt as threats evolve,” she said.

Future secured
NCC Group CEO Mike Maddison credited the company’s progress to its workforce. “For 25 years, our people have driven our success. Their expertise keeps us at the forefront of cyber resilience,” he said.

Magallona affirmed the company’s goal to grow and engage its Philippine team. “We want to develop more experts, support leadership growth, and keep our community aligned with future industry needs.”

The company also launched a new suite of Digital Identity Services to help firms manage and protect their digital assets. Filipino professionals are now a key part of delivering these global solutions.
