Two lives changed through adoption
Mars Philippines is putting the spotlight on how pet adoption transforms lives with the second annual Mars Global Adoption Weekend (GAW). This year, the initiative spans over 20 countries and emphasizes how adopting a shelter pet impacts both the pet and the pet owner.
In the Philippines, the campaign began through a partnership with Animal Kingdom Foundation (AKF) at the 10th Anniversary Run Fur Life event in Manila. Over 1,000 human and canine participants joined, inspired by BB, a three-legged rescue dog who has become an advocate for shelter pets. BB’s story shows how adopting a shelter pet gives an animal a second chance and enriches the adopter’s life.
Mars has been working in the Philippines for more than 30 years, supporting NGOs, veterinarians, and local communities to tackle pet homelessness. Through education and donations, the company continues to promote responsible pet ownership.
“Adopting a shelter pet changes two lives.
