Mang Inasal has returned to its roots in Iloilo with the grand reopening of its first-ever store at Robinsons Place Iloilo. After more than two decades, the home of the Philippines’ Grill Expert unveiled its refreshed, reimagined, and 5G-ready store design on September 1, 2025.
The milestone began with a blessing and digital relaunch ceremony on August 31, led by Mang Inasal President Mike V. Castro, brand ambassador Coco Martin, and Iloilo City Vice Mayor Love Baronda. The event highlighted both innovation and gratitude to Iloilo, the city where the brand was born in 2003.
Founded by Edgar “Injap” Sia II as a single grilled chicken store, Mang Inasal has grown into one of the country’s most loved brands, now backed by the Jollibee Group. With over 570 branches nationwide, the brand is known for its signature Chicken Inasal, Unli-Rice, and the Ihaw-Sarap dining experience. In 2025, Brand Finance named it the Strongest Restaurant Brand in the Philippines.
The new 5G-ready store features:
- A streamlined kitchen layout for faster service
- An upgraded Takeout Express for on-the-go customers
- The first Cashless Express Kiosk for seamless transactions
- A Heritage Wall showcasing its Iloilo roots
“This 5G design is our way of making every Mang Inasal visit faster, smarter, and more enjoyable,” said President Mike V. Castro. “This reopening is both a tribute to our beginnings and a bold step toward the future.”
The celebration also featured a Dinagyang-inspired performance and a heartfelt performance from the Don Bosco Boys Home Choir. Guests witnessed the unveiling of the Heritage Wall, which honored Iloilo as the birthplace of Mang Inasal.
With the reopening, Mang Inasal reaffirms its promise of Unli-Sarap and Unli-Saya for Filipinos, whether through dine-in, takeout, drive-thru, or delivery. From Iloilo to the nation, Mang Inasal continues to represent Filipino pride and entrepreneurial success.
