For this 2025 release, Martell Cellar Master Christophe Valtaud has carefully selected very old eaux-de-vie from past Years of the Snake, masterfully uniting them with the iconic L’Or de Jean Martell, a blend of over 1,400 eaux-de-vie from Cognac’s finest terroirs.
This year’s blend, perfected over months of meticulous tasting and deliberation, unveils exceptional subtlety, delicacy, and refinement while preserving the intensity and elegance of the original cognac. The delicate citrus and soft spices give way to evolving layers of quince marmalade, precious wood, and lastly a lingering finish that reflects the enigmatic personality of the snake, embodying its wisdom, courage, and mystery.
To house this precious elixir, Maison Martell collaborated with the legendary crystal artisans at Baccarat to create a decanter of unparalleled beauty. Shaped to echo a single drop of cognac, the mouth-blown crystal vessel is crowned with a bold red crystal stopper, sculpted to evoke the serpent’s graceful form. Intricately adorned with 19-carat gold snakeskin motifs andnestled within a meticulously crafted red case, this masterpiece rests on a gold-toned pedestal, finely engraved with scales and the edition number, emphasising its exceptional rarity.
