Singer-songwriter Jordan Susanto has announced his second album, “Million Different Reasons,” set for release on July 17.

Continuing the journey toward the upcoming record, Jordan has released his latest double single, “Nervous” and “Such a Shame.” The two tracks follow the release of album opener “Death of Me” earlier this year and offer a deeper look into the emotional and sonic direction of the new project.

The upcoming album explores themes of vulnerability, connection, self-reflection, and the many forms of love that shape everyday life.

Inspired by legendary artists such as Prince, James Brown, and Michael Jackson, “Nervous” leans into funk and soul influences, combining lively grooves with a playful musical approach.

“For me, it’s not about replicating a sound from an old era, but finding the most honest way to translate what I felt when I wrote this song,” Jordan shared.

Meanwhile, Jordan describes “Such a Shame” as a sister track to “Nervous,” both musically and thematically. Together, the songs celebrate emotional openness and challenge the idea of staying detached just to appear “cool.”

To capture a more organic sound, Jordan recorded the rhythm section live with his band, The Soul & Rollers, embracing spontaneous interaction and the dynamic energy often found in classic soul and funk recordings.

“I see that the current generation is starting to not be too afraid to look ‘cringe,’ not afraid to care,” he said. “I hope the next generation will grow up in environments that are more welcoming of their emotions.”

Compared to his self-titled debut album, “Million Different Reasons” marks a significant evolution for Jordan, both sonically and emotionally. The project takes a simpler and more intuitive approach, embracing looser arrangements, minimal editing, and the rawness of real recorded moments.

Jordan also shared that the new album feels more authentically him than his debut record.

With “Death of Me,” “Nervous,” and “Such a Shame,” Jordan gradually pieces together the emotional thread of “Million Different Reasons” — a record that reflects on relationships, friendship, anxiety, longing, self-love, and the countless reasons behind the way people feel and move through life.

“‘Love’ feels too narrow to describe all of it,” Jordan said. “There are a million different reasons behind the way we feel and live life.”
