Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI), the country’s top motorcycle manufacturer and power products provider, reaffirmed its commitment to social responsibility by donating 140 units of 6.5KVA generator sets to the Philippine Red Cross (PRC).
The first 70 units were turned over in September 2024, with the final batch of 70 units formally handed over on August 14, 2025, in Mandaluyong City.
These generator sets will boost PRC’s emergency response by powering essential medical equipment, ensuring reliable communication, and enabling continuous operations during disasters such as typhoons and the ongoing La Niña season.
HPI and PRC have worked together for decades, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and Super Typhoon Odette in 2021.
HPI President Takeshi Kobayashi, along with Assistant Vice President for Administration Division Juan Gerry Datario and other officers, led the turnover ceremony. PRC Chairman Richard Gordon and Secretary General Gwendolyn Pang received the donation on behalf of the organization.
“HPI shares the same value with PRC of saving Filipino lives. Under the banner ‘Honda Loves You,’ we continue to support institutions that protect communities,” the company stated.
Honda aims to be “a company that society wants to exist” by contributing to sustainable progress, promoting mobility and comfort, and uplifting communities through meaningful initiatives.
