Following the recent gameplay deep dive at State of Play, Sucker Punch Productions and Sony Interactive Entertainment have unveiled the stunning Ghost of Yōtei Limited Edition PS5 Console Bundles—a breathtaking tribute to Japanese art and cultural legacy, launching globally on October 2.
Drawing from the fictional world of Ghost of Yōtei, the new PlayStation 5 designs are rooted in Sucker Punch’s artistic portrayal of Ezo—modern-day Hokkaido. The consoles pay homage to traditional Japanese visual arts while spotlighting Atsu, the game’s lead protagonist on a powerful journey of vengeance and healing.
There are two distinct console designs revealed: the standard Ghost of Yōtei Limited Edition Bundle and the standout Gold Limited Edition, which channels the timeless beauty of kintsugi—a Japanese technique of mending broken pottery with lacquer mixed with gold. This symbolic art form becomes a narrative metaphor for Atsu’s path to resilience and self-discovery.
Each bundle includes a matching DualSense wireless controller that features subtle brushstrokes, a silhouette of Atsu on the touchpad, and a unique maker’s seal with the iconic PlayStation shapes engraved at the back—fusing modern hardware with ancient artistry. The console faceplates are centered around Mt. Yōtei, a mountain both symbolic of the Hokkaido landscape and central to the game’s lore.
Creative Director Jason Connell shared how these designs emerged from the game’s core themes: “A deep focus on exploration, hand-drawn map icons, and Atsu’s own Sumi-e art became the foundation of our visual language. Every design element—from the kintsugi patterns to the Ghost mask—was carefully considered.”
Each bundle also comes with a digital copy of Ghost of Yōtei Standard Edition, pre-order bonuses like a special in-game mask, and a PSN avatar set featuring the characters of the Yōtei Six.
For existing console owners, PlayStation is also releasing Ghost of Yōtei Gold Limited Edition Console Covers for PS5 (slim models) and PS5 Pro, featuring the same kintsugi patterns and engraved seal. A standalone DualSense Wireless Controller – Ghost of Yōtei Gold Limited Edition will also be available.
As anticipation builds for the game’s October 2 launch, fans are encouraged to check the official PlayStation blog soon for pre-order updates. In limited quantities, these editions are set to become coveted collector’s items—blending the future of gaming with the elegance of timeless Japanese design.
