Smart spending choices guide stress-free Ber travel
The holiday rush has started. The Ber months bring reunions, trips, and celebrations, and more Filipinos are traveling this December compared to the Asia Pacific average. According to Visa’s Green Shoots Radar Survey, 36% of Filipinos travel locally and 20% travel abroad during December, higher than the regional figures of 22% and 20%.
With more Filipinos on the move, Visa shares practical tips to make holiday travel smooth and stress-free.
Swipe Smart, Travel Smart
Nearly half of Filipino travelers use credit cards abroad. Using your Visa card helps you avoid carrying large amounts of cash. It also gives you access to perks, rewards, and installment options. Flights, hotels, and shopping are easier to manage when charged to your card.
Don’t Fumble for Change, Just Scan
Fifty-nine percent of Filipinos know they can use QR code payments overseas. With Visa-enabled e-wallets, paying for meals, transport, or pasalubong becomes faster and safer. You avoid handling loose change in crowded markets or busy shops.
Plan and Track Spending
Japan, Singapore, South Korea, and Hong Kong top the list of destinations for Filipinos. Each has unique spending habits, from transport passes to skincare hauls. Setting a budget per destination helps you stay on track. Using your Visa card allows you to see real-time purchase records and manage your funds better.
Focus on the Moments
Travel during the Ber months is not only about sightseeing. Forty-three percent of Filipinos travel to visit family, 29% for relaxation, and 28% for theme parks. With Visa’s secure payment options, you can worry less and enjoy more time with loved ones.
Visa Country Manager Jeffrey Navarro says, “Filipinos are becoming more intentional about how they travel, not only in where they go but in how they pay. This holiday season, Visa is here to make every trip simpler and more secure.”
The Ber months are a time to pause, connect, and celebrate. Smart spending choices make every trip safer and every celebration more meaningful.
