Galaxy Manila Marathon 2026 Turns Edsa into a Historic Full Marathon Route

EDSA became more than Metro Manila’s busiest highway during the Galaxy Manila Marathon 2026, as 25,000 runners took part in a historic race that transformed the iconic road into a space for movement, endurance, and community.

Held from June 12 to 13, 2026, the Galaxy Manila Marathon marked a first in Philippine running with a full marathon route that traversed EDSA end-to-end.

Through its partnership with RUNRIO and SM Supermalls, Samsung helped bring together elite athletes, fitness enthusiasts, first-time runners, families, and communities across 5KM, 10KM, 21KM, and 42KM race categories.

A Historic Run Through EDSA

The full marathon began late on June 12, in time for the country’s Independence Day celebration.

For runners and supporters, the event offered a rare experience: seeing EDSA reimagined not as a road defined by traffic, but as a route of progress, discipline, and collective achievement.

The marathon series is supported by the Department of Tourism.

Its routes are certified by World Athletics and the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races, and sanctioned by the Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association.
