World Aquatics has named Alibaba Cloud as its Global Exclusive Cloud Supplier in a partnership that will run from 2025 to 2028. This marks the first time the core systems of an international sports federation will be fully migrated to the cloud.
The collaboration will cover all World Aquatics events, including World Championships, World Cup cycles, and all digital platforms. Alibaba Cloud will provide cloud computing, AI-driven solutions, and a secure environment to support global digital operations and data strategy.
Key initiatives include:
- Migrating and upgrading the World Aquatics General Management System to better serve federations and athletes.
- Launching a new website and mobile app for athletes, coaches, and fans.
- Creating a scalable, secure digital ecosystem.
- Building a Customer Data Platform for customized services.
- Integrating AI technology for efficiency and process optimization.
World Aquatics President Husain Al Musallam said the partnership will enhance platform stability, data security, and service delivery to the global aquatics community. The goal is to create a more connected global network for health, life, and sport.
