UNIQLO Philippines has launched relief efforts to support communities affected by the recent earthquake that struck parts of Southern Philippines, including General Santos City and several areas across Mindanao.

In response to the disaster, the global apparel brand is working with humanitarian partners to provide immediate assistance to affected families through monetary aid, clean drinking water, and clothing donations. The initiative is being carried out in partnership with ABS-CBN Foundation and SM Foundation to help communities experiencing disruptions to essential services such as electricity and water supply.

As part of its response, UNIQLO Philippines has allocated more than 3,000 pre-loved LifeWear garments and 2,000 AIRism clothing items through its RE.UNIQLO program. The donated clothing is expected to benefit over 7,000 individuals impacted by the earthquake.

The company said it is working closely with its partners on the ground to ensure that relief assistance reaches affected communities as quickly and efficiently as possible.

“We recognize the challenges that many families and communities are facing following this earthquake. Working together with our partners, we hope to provide timely support and contribute to the ongoing relief and recovery efforts,” said Osamu Ikezoe, Chairman of the Board of Directors and COO of Fast Retailing Philippines, Inc.

The initiative reflects UNIQLO’s continuing commitment to supporting communities during times of need while contributing to recovery efforts beyond its role as a clothing retailer.

As recovery operations continue across the affected areas, UNIQLO expressed its solidarity with affected families and communities and remains hopeful for their safe recovery and rebuilding efforts.

Why This Matters
