Filipinos now have greater peace of mind with the nationwide rollout of the Unified 911 system. The new hotline integrates police, fire, medical, and disaster services into one reliable number, ensuring faster response and improved public safety.
With just a single call to 911, first responders can be dispatched within three to five minutes. The system uses GPS-based location tracking, allowing emergency teams to pinpoint callers with precision. It also supports voice, text, and video, giving responders real-time information to make better decisions on the ground.
The Unified 911 is a joint effort of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), PLDT Inc. and ePLDT, NGCS Inc., and NGA 911 Philippines, the local arm of U.S.-based NGA 911 LLC. The technology, already used in the United States and Europe, replaces fragmented local hotlines with one universal number.
Hosted on ePLDT’s Pilipinas Cloud and Amazon Web Services, the system is designed for reliability and resiliency. It connects the Philippine National Police, BFP, and local emergency units into one central network, with more agencies expected to join.
NGA 911 Co-Founder and CEO Don Ferguson said the cloud-based system “will help the DILG save more lives and empower more communities.” DILG Secretary Juanito Victor Remulla emphasized that the system is in line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s Bagong Pilipinas directive to unify 30 fragmented hotlines.
Robert Llaguno, NGA 911 Philippines Country Manager, added, “This partnership is aiming for nothing short of unparalleled service, and this is my commitment to my family and the Filipino people.”
By bringing next-generation emergency technology to the Philippines, the Unified 911 system ensures faster, more accurate, and more reliable emergency response for everyone.
