The Favors, the new project from FINNEAS and Ashe, have released their latest track “Times Square Jesus.” The single comes before the duo’s debut album The Dream, out September 19 via Darkroom Records.
“Times Square Jesus” features soft guitar strums and airy strings with heartfelt lyrics. The track continues the intimate tone set by earlier singles “The Hudson” and “The Little Mess You Made.”
FINNEAS shared that the inspiration came from the characters people encounter in places like Times Square and Hollywood. He explained that even if you do not live a religious life, being confronted by these images can make you reflect on your own emotions, regrets, or hidden loves.
Alongside the release, The Favors announced An Evening with The Favors, a short tour hitting iconic venues in Los Angeles, Red Rocks, and New York City. Fans will hear songs from The Dream as well as favorites from FINNEAS and Ashe’s solo careers.
Tour Dates:
• September 18 – Hollywood Forever Cemetery, Los Angeles, CA
• September 26 – Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Morrison, CO
• October 1 – Central Park SummerStage, New York, NY
• October 3 – Austin City Limits Music Festival, Austin, TX
• October 10 – Austin City Limits Music Festival, Austin, TX
The Favors first teamed up in 2019 with the hit “Moral of the Story” and later in 2021 with “Till Forever Falls Apart.” Their music draws on the Laurel Canyon sound of the 70s, echoing artists like Fleetwood Mac and Carole King, while blending in modern pop storytelling.
The Dream was written and recorded between Nashville and Los Angeles. Ashe described the process as “romantic and fun,” while FINNEAS emphasized the album’s intent as a full listening experience. Ashe adds, “I want you to feel warm, fuzzy, and heartbroken at the same time.”
