The Conjuring Last Rites has shattered box office records in the Philippines, setting a new mark for the biggest opening day for a horror movie of all time. Fans lined up for midnight screenings on September 3, making it the highest-grossing midnight launch ever in the country.
Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga returned for one final chapter as Ed and Lorraine Warren. Their farewell drew massive crowds, giving the film the record for the biggest R-16 opening, surpassing Final Destination Bloodlines. It also became the second highest-grossing opening day of 2025 for any movie.
The film is the ninth entry in the Conjuring universe, directed by Michael Chaves and produced by James Wan and Peter Safran. Fans embraced this final ride with nostalgia, as both Wilson and Farmiga looked back at over a decade of portraying the Warrens.
Cosplayers even joined the opening night celebration, with fans dressing up as the Axe Man and Annabelle. This made the farewell to the Conjuring series more memorable.
The Conjuring Last Rites is now showing in Philippine cinemas. Horror fans are urged not to miss the final case of the Warrens.
