VSP One drives efficiency and agility for AI-ready enterprises in Southeast Asia
Independent study demonstrates significant ROI and operational efficiencies; ASEAN Exchange 2025 reinforces urgent need for stronger data foundations in Southeast Asia
Organizations adopting Hitachi Vantara’s Virtual Storage Platform One (VSP One) achieved a 285% return on investment (ROI), US$1.1 million in net present value (NPV) and payback in only seven months, according to a new Total Economic Impact (TEI) study by Forrester Consulting.
The report, commissioned by Hitachi Vantara, highlighted measurable business value through improved operational efficiency, cost reduction, and hybrid cloud scalability. Key findings revealed a 30% to 35% cut in operational complexity, up to a 6:1 data reduction ratio, and time savings through automation and simplified management.
At the Hitachi Vantara ASEAN Exchange 2025 in Phuket, Thailand, more than 110 regional CIOs and leaders stressed the urgency of stronger data foundations to prepare for AI adoption. Industries represented included manufacturing, banking, healthcare, maritime, and public services.
Adrian Johnson, Senior Vice President & General Manager, The Americas and Asia Pacific at Hitachi Vantara, said, “The study validates what we consistently hear from Southeast Asian enterprises: modern infrastructure investments pay for themselves quickly when they reduce complexity and improve efficiency.”
Key Forrester TEI Findings
- 285% ROI with seven-month payback
- US$915,000 in operational efficiencies from modernization and reduced complexity
- US$373,000 in storage efficiency savings through compression and deduplication
- US$241,000 in time savings from optimized workloads and faster provisioning
Joe Ong, Vice President, ASEAN at Hitachi Vantara, noted that while AI adoption in the region is accelerating, data silos, poor quality, and security concerns still hinder progress. “The Forrester TEI findings show that with the right infrastructure, enterprises can achieve both cost savings and agility—critical outcomes for the region’s digital future.”
ASEAN Exchange 2025 also honored partners driving digital transformation with awards across Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Notable winners included VSTECS Singapore, NCS, PT Pansystems Sistim Informasindo, Ingram Micro Sdn Bhd, and Lancaster Technology and Development Corporation (Philippines).
The TEI study aligns with Hitachi Vantara’s State of Data Infrastructure survey, which found that only 32% of AI models in Asia deliver accurate results due to weak data structures, with just 30% of data being structured. This underlines the importance of trusted partners who can simplify operations and prepare organizations for AI at scale.
