Hitachi Vantara Red Hat Hybrid Cloud boosts modernization and flexibility
Hitachi Vantara has partnered with Red Hat to introduce a new hybrid cloud solution that simplifies virtualization, reduces costs, and increases flexibility for enterprises. The collaboration integrates Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization with Hitachi Vantara’s Virtual Storage Platform One (VSP One), creating a unified foundation for running both virtual machines and containers.
This integration helps organizations reduce their dependence on costly hypervisors while improving resilience and performance. With the included pre-validated reference architecture and advanced migration tools, businesses can transition from legacy systems faster and at lower cost.
The partnership addresses key issues faced by companies burdened by expensive licensing and vendor lock-in. VSP One enables continuous operations through its multi-site resilience and failover features, while its unified storage platform supports block, file, and object storage across on-premises and cloud systems.
Dan McConnell, senior vice president at Hitachi Vantara, said the collaboration offers customers “choice without complexity or cost.” The solution empowers organizations to modernize IT infrastructure efficiently while controlling operational expenses.
Early adopters like Alior Bank in Europe have already seen benefits, citing improved scalability, innovation, and performance after adopting Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization on VSP One.
The solution also enables full automation and visibility through integrated observability tools, ensuring secure and consistent operations across hybrid environments.
Red Hat’s Stefanie Chiras emphasized that this partnership allows enterprises to migrate and modernize “without disruption,” combining the strengths of open-source innovation with enterprise-grade reliability.
The collaboration builds on previous efforts, including updates to the Red Hat OpenShift migration toolkit powered by Hitachi Vantara’s offload driver for faster, storage-level data transfers.
The partnership reinforces both companies’ vision of delivering flexible, open, and cost-effective hybrid cloud infrastructure ready for the demands of modern enterprise workloads.
