Surf2Sawa by Converge grows to 500,000 users
Converge ICT Solutions Inc. has reached a major milestone with its prepaid broadband brand, Surf2Sawa (S2S), surpassing 500,000 active subscribers in just two years. The achievement highlights the growing demand for affordable, reliable, and flexible internet services in the Philippines.
Converge CEO and Co-Founder Dennis Anthony Uy credited the surge to strong market adoption of prepaid broadband, which has become mainstream among Filipinos seeking budget-friendly options. “This is a big step in advancing digital inclusion and meeting the changing needs of customers,” said John Paul Aguilar, OIC and Head of Consumer and SME.
Launched in late 2022, Surf2Sawa was designed for households unable to avail entry-level postpaid plans. It offers flexible top-up options from P50 to P700, unlimited internet access, contract-free setup, and connectivity for up to six devices at speeds of up to 50 Mbps.
Converge VP Conrado “Dhing” Pascual noted strong adoption in Metro Manila, South and Central Luzon, and expanding reach in Visayas and Mindanao. The growth is supported by the company’s continuous fiber rollout. He added that grassroots promotions like BRGY. S2S events, along with celebrity mom P-pop group MAMAMO as brand ambassadors, have helped drive awareness.
The company marked its 500,000-subscriber milestone on September 9 at its Pasig headquarters with employees and Converge FiberXers players. The event featured a real-time countdown, contests, and prizes.
With over 862,000 kilometers of fiber optic assets, Converge remains focused on extending its network to underserved areas. Surf2Sawa is expected to play a central role in bringing first-time fiber experiences to more Filipino homes.
