HBO Max brings James Gunn’s Superman with David Corenswet
James Gunn’s Superman is making its way to streaming. The film will premiere on HBO Max on September 19, followed by its HBO linear channel debut on September 20 at 8 PM ET.
The relaunch of the DC Comics Universe introduces David Corenswet as Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. The story follows a more seasoned Man of Steel caught in a political conflict between two nations, while Lex Luthor schemes to trap him in a secret overseas prison.
The film also features Krypto, Superman’s dog, inspired by Gunn’s own pet Ozu. The canine’s mischief provides humor while grounding the story in everyday relatability.
Praised for its colorful style and sharp storytelling, Superman has been described as one of the strongest interpretations of the iconic hero, offering audiences both spectacle and heart.
