Sophos XDR earns IDC MarketScape Leader recognition for 2025
Sophos has been named a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Extended Detection and Response (XDR) Software 2025 Vendor Assessment, cementing its position as one of the strongest cybersecurity providers globally. The recognition comes as the company achieves a major milestone with its Secureworks acquisition, which brings native Sophos Endpoint integration with Taegis XDR and MDR for unified, cost-effective security.
IDC highlighted Sophos’ robust protection technologies such as host-based firewall, IDS/IPS, DLP, anti-malware scans, and encryption as standard endpoint features. The report also praised Sophos’ Adaptive Attack Protection, introduced in 2023, which automatically enforces protections against active hands-on-keyboard attacks.
Kyle Falkenhagen, SVP of Product Management at Sophos, said the recognition validates their prevention-first strategy. “Sophos XDR empowers organizations to detect and respond to threats faster with AI-driven workflows, an extensive ecosystem of integrations, and a unified platform that scales from SMBs to enterprises,” he said.
Key features of Sophos XDR include:
- Prevention-first approach with Sophos Endpoint blocking threats before escalation.
- AI-accelerated security operations using real-time insights and natural language recommendations.
- Identity protection through integrations with identity tech and Sophos ITDR.
- Automated defenses such as MFA enforcement and ransomware rollback.
- Ecosystem flexibility with turnkey integrations for diverse IT environments.
- Unified platform reducing noise and simplifying operations.
With the Secureworks Taegis integration, customers gain combined prevention, detection, and response on a single platform, lowering licensing costs while enhancing security.
Sophos continues to earn industry validation, recently being named a Gartner Customers’ Choice for both XDR and EPP, a G2 Leader in multiple categories, and a Leader in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Protection Platforms for the 16th consecutive report.
This recognition confirms Sophos’ strong position in delivering intelligent, adaptive, and unified cybersecurity solutions for organizations worldwide.
