PalawanPay supports UP Fighting Maroons as primary sponsor for UAAP Season 88

PalawanPay reaffirmed its commitment to youth and sports development as the primary sponsor of the University of the Philippines (UP) Men’s Basketball, Judo, and Swimming Teams for UAAP Season 88. The announcement was made during the “Sugod, UP! UAAP Season 88 Pep Rally” at the University Theater in UP Diliman.

Organized by the UP Office for Athletics and Sports Development (OASD), the event united students, faculty, staff, and alumni in a celebration of team spirit and school pride. The pep rally featured athlete introductions, energizing performances, and messages of encouragement as UP prepared for another competitive season.

PalawanPay, part of the Palawan Group of Companies, has long supported UP athletics. As reigning champions of UAAP Season 87, the UP Men’s Basketball Team continues to receive vital backing from PalawanPay, which views sports as an essential part of youth empowerment.

“We take sports development seriously,” said Lilian Castro-Selda, Chief Financial Officer of Palawan Group. “Sports build discipline, integrity, and grit — values that shape leaders.”

Chief Marketing Officer Bernard Kaibigan added that PalawanPay’s support extends beyond performance. “We are investing in values that athletes can carry beyond the court, pool, and mat.”

Coach Bo Perasol, OASD Director, expressed gratitude to all sponsors. “In victory or defeat, we stand together. Greatness is earned, not given. Sugod, UP!”

Palawan Group’s partnership with UP began in 2019 and remains strong under founders Bobby and Angelita Castro and their UP alumni children. Their continued support has helped fund team needs and celebrate milestones, such as last year’s Champions’ Thanksgiving Dinner.

Tickets for UAAP Season 88 are now available via the PalawanPay app. UP students and alumni can book directly and cheer for the Fighting Maroons. Sugod, UP!
