Nike has launched SNKRS Reserve, a preorder system giving fans a chance to secure sneakers before public release.
The program debuted on August 24 with an early reservation for the unreleased Kobe 3 Protro “Christmas.” Nike says the goal is to create a fairer and more transparent process while also improving production decisions. By tracking reservations, the brand can match sneaker supply with actual demand.
SNKRS Reserve works on a limited first-come, first-serve basis. Each account is allowed only one reservation per release. This setup reduces the chaos often seen in traditional SNKRS drops, where buyers compete in seconds for limited pairs.
For sneaker fans, this could mean fewer missed chances and more access to exclusive pairs. By offering a clearer path to high-demand releases, Nike strengthens trust with its community. If successful, SNKRS Reserve may redefine how sneaker culture engages with the brand.
